He studied LASIK primarily under Joseph Thomas, MD and Mitch Jackson, MD. He started his own Ophthalmology practice upon completion of his residency.ĭuring his LASIK training he observed over 400 procedures before performing his first one and he performed over 400 procedures before completing his training.

Keil received his Ophthalmology training in Grand Rapids, MI through Metro Health Hospital in consortium with Michigan State University. He then attended Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine for his medical degree. Keil received his Associate of Arts Degree from West Shore Community College and his Bachelor of Science inĪfter graduating from MSU he worked at the University of Michigan as a Research Associate where he authored or co-authored many scientific articles. Keil is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the American Osteopathic College of Ophthalmology, the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons, the Refractive Surgery Alliance, the Michigan Society of Eye Physicians and Surgeons, and the American Osteopathic Association.

He also holds the position of Clinical Assistant Professor of Ophthalmology at Michigan State University, Clinical Assistant Professor of Ophthalmology at Ohio University Heritage College of Osteopathic Medicine, and Clinical Adjunct Professor at Ferris State University.ĭr.
